Being positive is something that’s really important to us here at Marmalead. And to be honest, there have been times in the last several months where writing about being positive has been a lot easier than actually doing the work to get there! But now more than ever, it seems imperative to work toward that end! So we can find success not only with our businesses but with the greater goals of equality and unity for all!

With these posts, I usually try to share some wisdom in my own words. But I’ve realized that when it comes to growth, positivity, goal setting, and pretty much any other applicable subject matter under the sun…there are others who are much smarter and far more eloquent that have already imparted some incredible wisdom! So why not at the very least take some time to share some of what I’ve found, and some of what inspires me when I sit down to write a post.

Daily Positivity

I’m going to share 5 quotes, one for each day of the week. And to help keep them at the front of your mind each day this week, I’ll break them down into five daily categories. Hopefully, you’ll find some inspiration here that will help you towards whatever goals you’re working toward in your Etsy shop this week and ultimately to more Etsy shop success.

Motivation Monday

Oprah Winfrey said ”Passion is energy. Feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you.” I don’t know about you all, but on many Mondays this is a reminder I need! It’s so easy to get lost in the details (especially on a Monday) and forget that this thing I’m doing, this life I’m building…I’m passionate about it! And when I stop for a moment and focus on that truth, it brings my goals into sharp focus and motivates me to stay the course!

Tenacity Tuesday

“I’m no longer accepting the things I cannot change…I’m changing the things I cannot accept.”  -Angela Davis

What a powerful reminder to sit at the helm of our own lives! We aren’t meant to just passively accept whatever comes our way. We are meant to be intentional and tenacious in pursuit of our goals. If you’re handed a situation that seems insurmountable, start looking for the workaround, and if you can’t find it- make it! Success is a path we each must carve out of the challenges we face!

Woke Wednesday

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” -Martin Luther King Jr. 

There’s a lot going on in the world right now, not the least of which are the racial injustices that have been highlighted again and again in our national narrative. So this quote is a reminder to stay present with these issues. This quote is a reminder that to truly live, we cannot shut ourselves off from the conversation, and we must use our voices to speak out against the injustices and inequality that we see in our world.

Thankfulness Thursday

It’s not all hard and heavy. Remember also to take stock of what’s good in your life. Eckhart Tolle said “Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance.” We talk a lot about thankfulness in these posts. And I don’t intend to stop anytime soon. For me, taking time to be thankful for anything good (it can be as simple as a cup of tea or a positive comment on a post) sets the tone for how capable I’ll be of facing the day’s challenges with grit and grace. So this Thursday, take a minute or two and find a few things to be thankful for.

Friday Fun

The weekend is so close I can taste it! The weekend is my opportunity to unleash my personal creativity. If I feel like painting, I make that happen. If I’m traveling, I make sure and journal about an excursion or draw something that reminds me of a great part of the trip so far. These things are fun for me and are my creative outlets. Yours might be different and that’s okay! But this is your reminder to make sure and have some fun along the way! Albert Einstein said “Creativity is intelligence having fun.” So get out there and let your creativity play!
