From ‘wedding gifts’ to ‘car accessories,’ these keywords are some of the most searched Etsy terms out there. Today, we’re taking a look at some of the most popular (and random) Etsy search terms to help you strategize your Etsy SEO.

BNPL: You’ve heard the names. AfterPay, Sezzle, QuadPay, and of course Klarna. Buy Now Pay Later continues to rise in popularity with almost all major online retailers, giving buyers the opportunity to purchase anything for just “four easy payments.”
And why not? After all, it’s not like buyers have to pay interest when they make their payments on time. And even if they don’t pay on time, purchasing though Klarna doesn’t give any penalty to Etsy sellers, right? Almost.
The truth: “There are no additional fees for you when a shopper pays with Klarna, just Etsy’s standard payment processing fee.” This quote comes directly from the Etsy Seller Handbook, so yes it’s true. And it sounds like a win-win. But while using Klarna is “free,” to sellers, Klarna is earning their share. Either from late fees charged to the buyer or from a cut of the processing fees Etsy charges sellers. And while Etsy’s processing fees might not seem like much, they add up. Even with partnerships between Klarna (and other businesses designed to help sellers land more sales), the cost of doing business with Etsy remains the same, for now.
Reflecting: Businesses have been offering consumers the opportunity to buy now, pay later for decades. But what was once used primarily as a sly marketing tactic for infomercials to help sell slap chops and snuggies, now gives Etsy sellers with big-ticket items a chance to land even more sales.
Love it or hate it: Etsy’s new Star Seller program is making waves in the seller community. Some of the criticism we’ve heard is that the program was rushed or that it could hurt new or smaller shops that aren’t able to meet the minimum requirements.
